According to sources in the state health department, 1 lakh 12 thousand people are in home isolation at present while over 3 thousand are admitted in hospitals. Cumulatively, more than 11 crore 20 lakh vaccine doses against Covid-19 have been administered in the state so far with nearly 4.5 crore second dose.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, as the Gangasagar mela officially commences, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has requested the devotees and pilgrims not to visit in huge numbers and to remain extra cautious in view of the threat of Omicron. They have been asked to strictly abide by the Calcutta High Court order. The HC recently ordered that no one will be allowed to visit Gangasagar without full vaccination and a negative RT-PCR test report within 72 hours and instructed the state to take adequate measures in view of the health and safety of the persons visiting Sagar islands.
