Health Minister J P Nadda has said a well implemented Universal Health Coverage (UHC) will lead to reduced healthcare burdensome expenditure. <br/><br/>Addressing a function organised to mark UHC day in New Delhi, Mr Nadda, said UHC aimed at ensuring equitable access for all to affordable, accountable, appropriate health services of assured quality,will significantly enhance the efficiency of health system. <br/><br/><br/>He said, government is committed to advance the UHC agenda in the country and States need to ensure there is adequate budgetary expenditure in the health sector. <br/><br/>He said, this year day is significant as it follows the approval of National Health Policy- 2017. Mr Nadda said, the government has increased budget for health sector by 27 percent in union budget this financial year. <br/><br/>He said National health policy commits to increase health expenditure by government as a percentage of GDP from the existing 1.15 percent to 2.5 percent by 2025.
