External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said that the welfare of minorities in Pakistan, including Hindus, will be monitored closely and issues taken up at appropriate meetings. Swaraj also assured taking up with Pakistan the difficulties faced by Hindus there in getting their marriages registered. These assurances were given by Swaraj to Rajya Sabha BJP MP from Punjab Avinash Rai Khanna, who wrote to her highlighting the problems being faced by the Hindus in the neighbouring country. <br/><br/>The Pakistan government, she said, was fully cognizant of the situation and claimed to be looking after the welfare of all its citizens, particularly the minority community.
