Government spokesperson Rohit Kansal said these welfare measures proved effective during lockdown to mitigate suffering of the people.<br />''<br />''Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory has become number one in the country for conducting maximum tests per day for coronavirus pandemic.The testing capacity in the union territory has gone up from just 100 tests per day in March to present 8000 tests per day. In the previous month, tests in Jammu and Kashmir has gone up from 1800 tests per day to 8100 tests, which is an increase of 350 percent, as far as percentage of tests in Jammu and Kashmir is concerned. Meanwhile, 47 new cases of COVID-19 were reported yesterday in Jammu and Kashmir, out of which 33 were from reported from Jammu and 14 from Kashmir region taking the total number of cases to 1668. Two fatalities, one each in Jammu and Kashmir regions, were reported yesterday taking the death toll due to pandemic in Jammu and Kashmir to 23.</span><br />
