Week- long Onam celebration concludes in Kerala

The week-long celebration of the state festival of Kerala – ONAM concludes today with cultural procession which will be held today evening at the capital city of Kerala. Governor M.O.H. Farook will flag-off this year's state level Onam procession which attracts thousands of people.The pageantry with over 70 mobile floats, organized by the department of tourism with the co-operation of Government departments, public sector enterprises, education institutions and various organizations will bring together elements Kerala's culture and history. In addition to the art forms of Kerala, south Indian states will also participate with their mobile display platforms (floats).The one week long programmes held in several venues of the city will also conclude today night. The illumination of the trees and buildings by the side of the main road from Kaudiar to Secretariat which attracted thousands of people during the Onam week evenings will also over by Tuesday night.AIR Correspondent reports that capital city, Thiruvananthapuram is experiencing rainfall and the weather is chilly without sunrays. If the rain continues, it may diminish the colour and gaiety of today's procession.
