Week long cultural Extravganza Bharat Parv begins in New Delhi

Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today inaugurated the week-long cultural Extravaganza Bharat Parv as part of the Independence day celebrations. Inaugurating the function in New Delhi today, Mr Naidu said, the festival aims to generate a patriotic mood and promote the rich cultural diversity of the country. He said, the cultural heritage given by our forefathers should be kept intact and the young generation should take inspiration from it. Mr Naidu also said that some people are trying to tarnish the image of the nation by highlighting certain incident.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said, the cultural festival will showcase the unity and diversity of the country. He said, people will get an opportunity to the state pavilions, where each state is showcasing its progress and achievements. The event's will be open for general public from tomorrow. The timings of the festival are from 1400 hrs to 2100 hrs and the entry will be free.
