Weather may affect price trends of food in regions including India: WB

The World Bank has said that adverse weather conditions may affect food price trends in some regions, including India. The multilateral lender said, even though international prices of food continued to decline between June and October this year, it still remains high. It said that deteriorating weather conditions and other uncertainties might further affect price trends.It said, bad weather in South America, Black Sea countries, China and India particularly warrants concern.Meanwhile, the World Bank's Food Price Index decreased six per cent between June and October 2013.
