Tamil Nadu State Hydro Power units are facing a severe blow due to failure of South West Monsoon. Power generation has come down by 33 per cent of the combined capacity. The state is already facing acute power shortage.Sources confirmed water levels in reservoirs across the state is low. About a dozen major reservoirs in the Western Ghats are likely to produce 555-million unit during the current financial year, which is two per cent less than the installed capacity. The state has generated only 462-million units from its hydro stations so far this year as compared to 1,330-million units last year.
