We have responded with courage to ceasefire violations by Pakistan: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that India had responded with courage to ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing election rallies at Baramati in Pune and Ahmednagar districts he said that Indian Army has responded to the aggression with courage and in right way and the enemy has realized that times have changed and their old habits will not be tolerated.

Without naming any political party, he slammed those targeting the government on the issue through a public discourse and said that it demoralized the army personnel Jawans fighting on the border.

He said such issues should not be discussed for political benefits. Mr. Modi said that elections will come and go, governments will come and go, but please don't demoralize those fighting on the border by debating these things for political gains.

Targeting NCP leader Sharad Pawar, who had criticized him for holding poll rallies in Maharashtra when there was tension on the border, Modi said, when he was the defence minister, there were problems with Pakistan and China on the border, did he ever bother to go to the border then.

The Prime Minister appealed to the political parties not to politicize the tension at the Indo Pak border. Mr. Modi also criticized the Congress NCP for having led the state to a path of corruption and compelled farmers for suicide.
