WC: New Zealand beat Zimbabwe; West Indies thrash Bangladesh

In ICC Cricket World Cup matches today, New Zealand and West Indies recorded easy victories against their respective rivals. In a Group 'A' game at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, the Kiwis trounced Zimbabwe by 10 wickets with more than 16 overs to spare. After dismissing Zimbabwe for 162, New Zealand surpassed the winning target of 163 by making 166 in 33.3 overs without losing a wicket. In the Group 'B' fixture at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, the West Indies beat co-hosts Bangladesh by nine wickets. They shot out Bangladesh for a paltry 58, which was the fourth lowest in World Cup history. The winners then completed the formalities in only 12.2 overs. The total duration of the match was only 31.1 overs. Tomorrow, Australia will take on co-hosts Sri Lanka in a Group 'A' match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. All India Radio will broadcast live commentary on the Day-Night match. The commentary can be heard on Rajdhani Channel and FM Gold from 2 p.m. onwards.
