At Perth, Australia mauled Afghanistan by a whopping margin of 275 runs, biggest in World Cup and second highest in history of ODI. Put into bat first, Co-hosts amassed a World Cup record total of 417, as they bettered, India's record of 413 and then a fierce pace bowling dismantled Afghanistan at just 142. David Warner and Steve Smith's clubbed 260 together, that laid foundation for a formidable total. Warner's knock of 178 off 133 balls, the second-highest score in a ODI by an Australian was adjudged 'Man of The Match' performance. The Aussie pace attack took 8 wickets in total and Mitchell Johnson claimed 4 of them. In the other encounter at Napier, Pakistan kept it's quarter final hope alive after cruising a comfortable victory over UAE by 129 runs. UAE could only manage 210 in 50 overs in reply's to Pakistan's 339. With two victory in 4 matches Pakistan is holding fourth spot in Pool-B by an edge. With victory required in each match left for them, it will be interesting to watch their next encounter against in form South Africa.
