India has started its World Cup dream with a win against Bangladesh. India defeated the hosts by 87 runs. At the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, chasing a huge victory target of 371 runs, Bangladesh could score 283 runs for nine in fifty overs a short while ago. Earlier, put in to bat, Indian opener Virender Sehwag unleashed a merciless assault on the hapless rival bowlers to smash 175 runs which is highest one-day score. His 14th ODI century alongwith Virat Kohli's unbeaten hundred helped India to make a massive 370 for 4 in their 50 overs. Kohli's World Cup debut century was his fifth ODI ton. Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar was run out for 28, while Gautam Gambhir made 39. With his 445th appearance, Tendulkar today became the world's most capped ODI player when he overtook Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya, who is not playing in this World Cup.
