WC 2011: India won by 87 runs

Opener Virender Sehwag's scintillating 175 helped India today launch their Cricket World Cup campaign with an emphatic 87-run victory over Bangladesh. Put in to bat, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, India piled up an imposing 370 for four in the inaugural match of the tournament. Sehwag's knock was his highest one-day score, and also his 14th ODI century. Virat Kohli also had his moment of glory when he completed his unbeaten century in the final over in his maiden World Cup match. It was his fifth ODI hundred.Chasing the huge victory target of 371, Bangladesh finished with 283 for nine in their 50 overs. Virender Sehwag was declared the Man of the Match for his swashbuckling knock.India will play their next match against England in Bangalore on February 27.
