WB urges centre to provide additional force to tackle Maoists menace

The West Bengal Government has urged the centre to send additional six companies central Para Military force in the State to tackle Maoists menace. The State Chief Secretary Mr. Asoke Mohan Chakraborty told newsman in Kolkata today that 18 companies Para-Military force are now working in Maoist infested areas. <br/><br/>The Chief Secretary said that bilateral talks at Chief Minister’s level between Maoist infested states will take place soon before launching joint operations.<br/><br/>These steps are being taken as a follow up measure after Union Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram’s recent crucial meeting with West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Orrisa governments to combat Maoists in Kolkata.
