In West Bengal, five persons were killed when a speeding train hit them while crossing rail tracks this afternoon. The accident occurred at Santragachi rail station in Howrah District. A spokesman of the South Eastern Railway said that, the speeding Ranchi-Howrah Intercity Express ran over the victims, who were crossing the tracks instead of using the over-bridge. Railway Minister Mukul Roy has announced two lakh rupees as ex-gratia to the families of the victims.””
