<br/>The West Bengal Government has decided to set up a training centre for police force to deal with terrorist activities in the State. Giving this information in the State assembly, the Chief Minister Mr. Budhadev Bhatharjee said that the land for the Centre has already been identified at West Midnapore district. Mr. Bhatacharjee said that the Centre will be set up with the help of the Union Government. Referring to the Maoist activities in the State, Mr. Bhatacharjee advocated for united political fight and expedition of developmental activities in jungle mahal to deal with the situation. The Chief Minister informed the House that a speical counter insurgency force has been raised and special task force has been formed under State police to combat insurgent activities. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, the State Home Secretary Mr. Samar Ghosh told in Kolkata that 18 police stations in Maoist infected West Midnapore, Bankura, and Purulia districts will be modernised soon. Mr. Ghosh said that two crore rupees will be spent for each police station for this purpose. The Centre will bear 80 per cent of the modernisation cost while rest will be provided by the State.
