The West Bengal Government has decided to set up a Clinical Establishment Tribunal to deal with unethical and unfair trade of private nursing homes. A bill to this effect was adopted in the State Assembly on Thursday. Replying to the West Bengal Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) bill in the house the health minister Mr. Surya Kanta Mishra said that, under the provisions of the bill admission to the nursing homes can not be denied under any circumstances and the body of the deceased can not be held back for non payments of bill. The provision of the bill also include registration of chambers of doctors for private practices, display of license of the Clinical Establishment for common people, delivery of all medical reports to the patient party and cancellation of license or property attachment of the nursing homes and imposition of fine for violation of the act.
