The new Government which has taken over office in West Bengal, has decided to lift water tax in 1 hundred and 27 Municipal Corporation areas. Talking to news persons in Kolkata today, the State PWD and Urban Development Minister Mr. Firhad Hakim stated that , the West Bengal State Government will not collect any water tax hereafter from these areas.
