In West Bengal, over 97 lakh 44 thousand voters of 54 assembly constituencies in six district of North Bengal would decide the fate of 364 aspirants in the first phase on 18th April of the six phases of election for 294 seats in the state. For smooth poll and to ease the voters the election department has established about 12092 polling booths across six district of North Bengal of which 3607 polling booths have been detected as sensitive ones. In Darjeeling district alone 1425 booths have been set up of which 980 booths have been detected as hyper sensitive. Here 38 candidates are in the election fray for six assembly seats. Meanwhile, the Deputy Election Commissioner Mr. Vinod Zutsi who is reviewing the situation before the election in North Bengal held a high level meeting with the district officials of Malda and South Dinajpur in Malda this after noon where State Chief Election Officer Mr. Sunil Kumar Gupta and state's police brass were also present.
