In West Bengal, the Criminal Investigation Department has submitted the charge-sheet in a local Court against 21 accused in the hooch tragedy which claimed 173 lives in South 24 Parganas in December last year.The CID team submitted the Charge-sheet in the court of acting Chief Judicial Magistrate at Diamond Harbour against key accused Nur Islam Fakir Alias ‘Kohra Badshah’ and others.Khora Badshah surrendered at the Diamond Harbour Court on 17th of last month. Seven of the accused are still absconding. The West Bengal Government announced Rs 2 lakh compensations to the next of kin of the hooch victims.
