The World Bank has approved a 99 million US dollars package for Nepal- India Electricity Transmission and Trade project to assist the government of Nepal’s efforts to mitigate a national energy crisis. The landmark cross-border project will provide Nepal with at least 100 megawatts of additional electricity and minimize power black outs. The project will see the establishment of cross- border transmission capacity of about 1000 megawatts.
