WB Govt. to table a Bill in Assembly seeking to revoke the Singur land lease agreement

The West Bengal government will introduce a Bill in the State Assembly today seeking to revoke the Singur lease agreement with the Tata and take back the land leased to them. This was disclosed by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Manoj Chakraborty while talking to reporters after an all-party meeting in Kolkata on Monday. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that her government is committed to return the 400 acres of land to unwilling farmers and keep the remaining nearly 600 acre for industry.
