The West Bengal Government has decided to release 220 mentally retarded under trials from different jails in the state. The State Home Secretary Mr. Samar Ghosh told in Kolkata today that, the Government will withdraw cases against them and will also make arrangements for their rehabilitation. Earlier the Director of the Eastern Region of the National Human Rights Commission Mr. Damodar Sarangi met the State Home Secretary on the issue in Kolkata.
