The West Bengal Government has decided to institute 'Banga Khel Ratna Award' for outstanding sports personalities. Announcing this in Kolkata today the Chief Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee said that the Government has also decided to observe Youth sports day on the birth day of Swami Vivekananda from next year. Miss Banerjee today handed over financial assistance of 2 lakh rupees each to about 1,600 clubs of the state to improve their sports infrastructure. She urged the members of the clubs to remain vigilant in their locality to prevent any type of anti-social activities particularly harassment of women. <br/>
