The West Bengal Government is taking steps to eliminate middle men from the marketing of Agricultural products like Potato, Onion and Vegetables. This was revealed by the state Agriculture Minister Mr. Arup Roy at a meeting of the Bengal National of Chamber & Industry (BNCCI) in Kolkata today. He said during the prolonged erstwhile Left Front rule in the state, middle men have been allowed to prosper and continue their business. He said that in the last one year the newly formed Trinamool Congress Government has tried to put a lid on the business of middle men. Mr. Arup Roy said that the present state Government in now to taking steps to ensure that the farmers’ product go directly to the traders in the retail markets.
