The West Bengal Government has set up a secretary level committee to suggest steps for curbing infant mortality and malnutrition. The committee will be headed by the State Health Secretary Mr. Sanjoy Mitra. The decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata today. The Secretaries of Panchayet, Education, Food, Women and Social Welfare Departments will be its members.
