The West Bengal government has sanctioned two lakh rupees compensation to the families of the victims of the cyclonic storm in North Dinajpur district. <br/><br/>The death toll in severe storm has gone up to 43. <br/><br/>Storm which lashed in the district on Tuesday night caused havoc in which around 60,000 mud houses were destroyed, number of trees were uprooted and electricity connection were snapped. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that relief and rescue operations are going on in full swing. 4 ministers of the state government are touring various affected areas to supervise relief and rescue works. <br/><br/>The state government has sanctioned special grants to the district authority to deal with the situation. <br/><br/>Many areas are still cut-off with the rest of the country and reeling under without power. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, homeless and marooned people today showed demonstration at different places for alleged inadequate supply of relief materials.<br/>
