The West Bengal government has once again ruled out talks with the Maoists till they laid down their arms. The Chief Minister Mr. Bhudhadeb Bhattarcharjee said this at West Midnapore district today. Mr. Bhattarcharjee categorically said that there was no question of talks with Maoists till they surrendered arms. Brushing aside all allegations, the Chief Minister lauded the role played by the joint forces deployed to flush out Maoists as commendable. But it has to improve further, Mr. Bhattarcharjee said. He informed that the camps of the joint forces at different educational institutions in Lalgarh and adjoining areas will be shifted by next Sunday.<br/>The Chief Minister promised more development projects for the people living in forested areas. He said that the security measures in all Block Development Offices and police stations in the<br/>Maoist-infested areas will be strengthened. AIR correspondent Arijit Chakraboty reports that the Chief Minister paid two days' visit in Maoist-infested West Midnapore district to take stock of the situation and to review the progress of implementation of development works. He also held discussions with the administration of adjoining Purulia and Bankura districts.<br/>
