The West Bengal State Government has cancelled the proposal of Chemical Hub at Nayachar. The State Industries Minister Mr. Partha Chattopadhyay declared this in the Legislative Assembly today. Replying to a question by the CPIM member Mr. Manaranjan Parta, he said, that the decision was taken keeping in mind the degradation of soil and environment and the harm it would cause to the fishermen.The Industries Minister said that, his party’s position on the issue has not changed since their days in the opposition. Mr. Partha Chattopadhyay said that, the State Government has received a lot of proposals for alternate industries which are being examined.
