The West Bengal Government has opposed the move of Viswa Bharati University to construct a boundary wall at Poush Mela Ground. Opposing the attempt, the Chief Minister, Ms. Mamata Banerjee said that it is against the ideals of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore who started the education system under open sky and trees. <br />''<br />''She said that the efforts will hamper the Natural Beauty of the place. Ms. Banerjee urged the University Authorities not to take any action which affects the legacy and glory of Viswa Bharati founded by Tagore. The Chief Minister directed the Birbhum District Administration to sit with the Viswa Bharati University authorities, students and local people to resolve the issue.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;"><br />''Trouble erupted at the University Campus on Monday morning as large number of people ransacked Viswa Bharati's properties protesting the construction at Mela Ground.
