WB: Govt instructs administration to execute pending non-bailable warrants

The West Bengal Government has instructed the district administrations to execute pending non bail able arrest warrants ahead of Assembly poll in the state. The State Government reviewed the overall election preparedness with all District Magistrates and Superintendent of Police at a high level meeting in Kolkata today. After the meeting State Chief Secretary Samar Ghosh told newsmen that number of political clashes have been reduced after announcement of election dates though district administrations have been asked to maintain strong vigil in the sensitive areas. The Chief Secretary said that, overall law and order situation was also discussed in the meeting where emphasis has been put on recovery of illegal arms with top priority. Instructions have also been issued for strict compliance of model code of conduct of elections at all level of Government functioning.
