The West Bengal government has formed a high level composite Task Force to investigate into recent blast at Khagragarh in Burdwan District in which two persons were killed.
State Home Secretary Basudev Banerjee said in Kolkata last night that the Director General of Police Mr GM P Reddy will lead the Task Force and it will also co- ordinate with various investigating agency like CID , Kolkata Police and others probing the blast.
Mr Banerjee said that the government is also keeping close touch with the National Investigating Agency (NIA) on the matter.
The Home Secretary denied involvement of Al -Qaeda behind the blast. Meanwhile, a local court has remanded two women arrested in connection with the blast to police custody till 9th of this month.
Opposition Left Front and BJP have criticized the government for its alleged failure to tackle law and order and soft stands on criminals .
