The West Bengal Government has felicitated the latest team to conquer Mount Everest. In a programme arranged by the sports and youth affairs ministry at the Netaji Indore Stadium today the chief minister Mr. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee felicitated the two climbers Basant Singha Ray and Debashis Biswas. <br/><br/>Three of their teammates at the base camp Ashoke Ray, Sourav Sinchan Ray and Bibhas Sarkar were also felicitated, along with helpers Pasang and Pemba Sherpa. This is the first time that Sherpas are being felicitated for helping in climbing the tallest peak in the world. The Chief Minister handed over cheques worth 1 lakh rupees to the Everest conquerors and cheques worth 25 thousands rupees to their teammates.
