The West Bengal government has decided to impose spot fines for storage, selling and purchasing of banned fire crackers in the State. <br />'' <br />'' State Environment Minister Soumen Mohapatra said in Kolkata today that under the law, spot fine up to maximum Rs 1 lakh can be imposed for violation of rules. He said that modern equipments have been given to all police stations in the state to measure sound levels. <br />'' <br />'' Special teams of the Environment Department will keep strong vigil on the roads to monitor the use of banned fire crackers.<br />
