The West Bengal Government has convened an all party meeting in Kolkata on Wednesday to discuss the renaming of the state and re-organisation of districts. The Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will preside over the meeting. AIR Kolkata Correspondent reports that the State Government has decided to create a separate district in Jhargram bifurcating West Midnapur district, granting the status of a district to the City of Kolkata and renaming of East Midnapur district as ‘Tamralipta’ remembering the role of the district in the freedom movement of the country. Besides, renaming of the state and re-organisation of some other big districts are also likely to come up for discussion
