West Bengal Governor Mr. M. K. Narayanan has expressed grave concern at the increasing political violence in the State. Inaugurating a seminar on internal security, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Kolkata today, he said, such political clashes are dangerous for the internal security of the State and the Nation as a whole. Talking to news persons the Governor said that, incidents like the Netai village are undesirable and unfortunate. He said that, such incidents should be prevented from happening again. Asked about the present situation, he said, the Maoists are stepping up their activities in undeveloped areas with the help of local populace. Mr. Narayanan said the Maoists are increasing their influence even in Universities. He said, at present Maoists activities are going on in 16 States of the Country.
