The West Bengal environment department has decided to use solar energy in all advertisement, bill boards and hoardings. The decision will come into effect from tomorrow on the occasion of World Environment Day. The Principle Secretary of the Environment Department Mr. M. L. Meena told in Kolkata that the decision has been taken to promote energy efficiency and use of renewable energy. Mr. Meena said that the electricity supplying authority has been directed no to give electrical connection to the hoardings and bill-boards from tomorrow. Existing bill-boards and hoardings have to be switched over to solar power by December this year. West Bengal pollution control board and police authority have also been instructed to take necessary actions against the violators of the new decision. <br/>
