WB election: EC made Voter’s Photo Identify card mandatory

In West Bengal, the Election Commission has made the production of Voter’s Photo Identify card mandatory during voting for those who has already got it. Additional Chief Electoral Officer of the State NK Sahana said in Kolkata that for those yet to get voter's identity card, alternative 14 identity cards will be valid during voting. Meanwhile, the filing of nominations is on for first phase Assembly poll in the State which is scheduled to be held on 18th of next month. Altogether 9 nominations have been filled in two days after issuance of poll notification.
