WB decides to reform present Panchayet System

The West Bengal Government has decided to reform the present Panchayet System to make it more people oriented and corruption free. Addressing a seminar on ‘Role of Government and Political Parties to Run Panchayets’ in Kolkata today the State Panchayet Minister, Mr. Anusur Rahman placed fifteen points reform programme to improve its functioning. Mr. Rahman sought cooperation from all political parties so that benefit of different welfare programmes done by the department reaches to the poor. Taking part in the seminar the Speaker of the State Assembly Mr. Hasim Abdul Halim pleaded for removing political bigotry for its effective working. The opposition leader, Mr. Partha Chatterjee and leader of the Congress Legislative Party, Dr. Manas Bhuiya also spoke.<br/>
