A local court in Howrah today sentenced 16 men, including four CPI-M members to life imprisonment for beating a man to death about 10 years ago. Amta fast court judge Samiran Dutt also ordered the convicted to pay a fine of 1,000 rupees each failing which they would serve an additional month in prison.<br/><br/>One of the accused was acquitted due to lack of evidence, while another two were sent to juvenile court.<br/>
