The West Bengal Chief Minister, Mr. Buddhadev Bhattacharjee has warned of stern action against illegal construction of buildings in Kolkata and adjoining areas of the City. <br/><br/>Speaking in the wake of the devastating fire in Kolkata, Mr. Bhattacharjee admitted in the State Assembly on Thursday that some floor of the building which caught fire were constructed illegally. He confessed that a section of people in the administration are involved in a racket with illegal builders.<br/><br/>The Chief Minister said the incident which claimed 24 lives has opened its eyes and the Government needs to intervene to check recurrence of such incidents. Meanwhile, efforts are on to find out dead bodies from debris of the building. <br/><br/>Relatives of many missing persons are seen anxiously waiting in front of the building. The caretaker and his assistant who were nabbed by the police have been produced before a city court on Thursday. Relatives of the victims showed demonstration at SSKM Hospital in Kolkata demanding speedy hand over of the body of their near and dear one.
