West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has alleged that the Centre has not been giving the State money that is due to them. Talking to a gathering of Panchayat workers the Chief Minister said that this is not a matter of mercy being shown to the state by the Centre but the state’s due. He said the Centre is bound to give 1700 crore rupees this year. Bhattacharjee said in his speech that panchayats run by the opposition are not being treated badly, but these panchayats are indulging in corruption and nepotism.
