West Bengal celebrates Kali Puja on Diwali day today. Large numbers of community pujas have been organized throughout the State. In some houses, Lakshmi Puja is also being held. People from all walks of life are visiting Kalighat and Dakshineswar temples in Kolkata since morning. State Government has made elaborate security arrangements to maintain law and order. State Administration has banned bursting of high-sound firecrackers to curb sound pollution. Fire Service Department has also made elaborate special arrangements. Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee has appealed to people to maintain peace and communal harmony during the festival of Diwali.
