West Bengal celebrates the Birth day of Rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam today. To observe the day the main programme will be held at Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata this afternoon, where Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee will lay the foundation stone of Nazrul Bhavan in the city. The State Government will also present the Nazrul Award to the noted singer Firoza Begum on the occasion. Various programmes have also been organised to mark the day through out the state. A special programme has also been planned at Churulia in Burdwan District the Birth place of the poet on the occasion.
