The Budget Session of the West Bengal Assembly began in Kolkata today with the address of State Governor Mr. M.K.Narayanan. In his address Mr. Narayanan mentioned various achievements of the State Government particularly in restoring peace in Junglemahal and Darjeeling Hills. Mr. Narayanan informed the House that, the process of formation of new autonomous council Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) in Darjeeling Hills has started following President Ms. Pratibha Devi Sing Patil’s assent on it. The Governor said that, Government has received investment proposals of 80 thousand crore rupees during first nine months of their rule.
