The West Bengal Government has decided to bring a bill to provide reservations in Higher Education for the weaker section of the society in the next session of the Assembly. Announcing this in the State Assembly today the Chief Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee said that it is done for the purpose of giving reservation to the weaker section in the Government jobs . Later the house passed the West Bengal Backward Classes (Other than Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) reservation of vacancies in services and posts bill. Under the provision of the bill people belonging to the Other Backward Classes will get 17 percent reservation in State Government jobs.
