In West Bengal, peaceful voting is on for the fourth phase of Assembly elections in 63 seats covering East Midnapore, Howrah, Hooghly and parts of Burdwan districts. 58 per cent polling has been recorded in the last six and a half hours upto 1:30 p.m. The State Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. Sunil Gupta told our Kolkata Correspondent that two Presiding Officers and two Polling Officers have been removed for violation of Model Code of Conduct and also for illness. 57 Electronic Voting Machines were also replaced from various polling booths due to technical snags. No major untoward incident has so far been reported.
