WB Assembly adopts resolution demanding Centre withdraw FDI in retail

The West Bengal Assembly has adopted a resolution demanding the centre to withdraw its decision to allow FDI in retail trade.Moving a non-official resolution under the rule 169 the state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Partha Chatterjee said that, livelihood of crores of people in retail and unorganized sectors in the country will be affected by this decision. The resolution also cretisized the centre for hiking of prices of disel, fertilizer and restrictions of subsidy on LPG cylinders. Taking part on the discussions the Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee categorically said that her party Trinamool Congress will not compromise with anything which affects the interst of common people.
