The West Bengal chief secretary, Mr. Ashok Mohan Chakraborty has acknowledged the receipt of the Railway Board’s reply to the State Government letter regarding the use of land in Singur for the construction of railway coach factory at the site where the Tatas had earlier planned to set up a small car factory. Talking to newsperson at the State Secretariat, the Writers Buildings’ in Kolkata today, Mr. Chakraborty said that the reply – letter is being examined and considered. He said the railway board in its letter has asked for detailed particular of the land. In the letter, the railway board has expressed the desire to construct a world class railway coach factory on undisputed piece of land. The Chief Secretary said that there is no mentioned of any compensation to be given to the farmers for the acquired piece of land in the letter.<br/>
