Water receding in some parts of flood-affected North Bihar

In north Bihar, due to decrease in the water level of some rivers, flood situation is improving in some parts of the state. However, at the same time, water level is increasing in some other parts. Dozens of villages are inundated by flood in the Kalayanpur block of Samastipur district due to increase in water level of Bagmati river. Continuous increase in water level of Kareh, Kosi and Kamla rivers have once again caused flood in four panchayats of Bithan block. Situation is still grim in the flood affected areas of Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani and Muzaffarpur districts.Traffic movement on Darbhanga-Jaynagar National Highway is still obstructed due to three feet water flowing on the diversion near Khirma. Agricultural production is likely to be effected in Madhubani, Sheohar and Samastipur districts.
